Well Now....

I heard something on the radio the other day.  I did not like it. Bloggers, Tweeters, Face Booker's, You Tuber's are liable to "slap suits". The NPR host said that.  He said that I should get a "defamation of character", some sort of slanderizing insurance rider on my home owners in case I had a law suit "slapped" on me. Said it happened all the time...you post something somebody don't like and they "slap"  a  "defamation of character" , etc., law suit on you.

Barbara Streisand got hot under the collar 'cause someone posted an arial photograph of her house. She demanded he take the photo off via an email. The guy who posted the picture, posted her email and the "hits" went from 400 or so, to 400,000. She sued...don't know what happened. Opps, am I in trouble?

You know, you can go to Google Earth and cruise "down your street where you live." How can you sue someone for that when it's public technology?

I promised when I started this mess,( the blog) that there would be no in depth coverage of religion or politics. I also promised my wife that their would be no writing about her...I have mentioned her name on occasion, but so far, no law suit. I do this cause it's fun...I can choose not to post. I only have ten followers. Don't mean any harm, people.

I didn't know you needed insurance to write...what happened to the First Amendment? The insurance is fairly  cheap, $3.00 dollars a year, according to the man in the radio. Hmmm.

I haven't decided what to do about insurance. Guess I'll just have to keep writing...it's gonna get more exciting now that I can get "slapsuited", 1st Amendment or not. You guys are not gonna' be mean to me are you? I ain't got no insurance...yet.

Again, we must remember the Ironic Words or Porky Pine, who actually spake the words attributed to Pogo Possum..."We have met the enemy, and he is us"! Guess he'll have to sue Pogo! I have proof...

  1. SLAPP - Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation - Not really intended to win, but meant to hassle and intimidate a 'smaller' opponent into just shutting up.
